I noticed an auction site that had similar styled houses and discovered that all (6) were sold by "The May CO." in the 1930's. It is in this way we will be able to see what may have been at one time a complete set.

I grabbed the photos off of eBay of the houses and of the bottoms where the information is. Notice that when the bottom export made in Japan stamp is legible these are all the same stamp.

I have long ago found that these stamps on the bottom are highly individual not just in style but since they were hand made - perhaps being a hand carved wood block stamp that even when the style is the same the characteristics of the letters is distinctive and individual.

So these six houses we can safely assume were all part of a set that someone bought from the May CO. on a mark down sale. Notice the 15 cent sticker has been marked out and 10 cents written over it. Many of these houses are pretty common and most of us have a few of them that we have picked up individually. And this first little yellow bungalow is among the most common and may have been available for several years in several different sets and possibly by different makers.

At this time (and sadly for some time) Sets and partial sets are being broken up and so we are losing valuable historic information of what comprised a set. Each of these houses is up for auction on individual auction pages. I wrote the seller and she didn't have the original box and had purchased them for resale from an estate sale.

Continuing I am going to put 3 photos one each of house and the bottom of the base. And so the house picture comes first then the base to THAT individual house. So first the house then the base even though I am dividing 3 by two.

This next house is not so common but the 3rd one is fairly common and is available in several different finishes. I suspect the design of this set was made over several years.

The house in this grouping is like one I recently posted on these pages even down to the coconut colors. Not uncommon but I had a hard time getting one and that is why I wound up with such a rotter and don't for a minute think it was cheap either!

This is a fairly common variation of a popular design of a manorial looking house with crenelated roof. Many different variations of this house by many different makers. Perhaps the most common of designs.

This house is probably the least common of the designs but I have one in a green coconut version and have seen it before.
I hope this helps people put some sets together. I have no idea what the other two were but no doubt they were full coconut types as these are and likely had a church of some kind with it. These were NOT big houses by any means and though I don't have the dimensions as I don't own them and they weren't posted on the auctions I am very familiar with most of these.

Tom, thanks for posting these, I didn't realize they were all from the same set. Also, there are a couple colors I haven't seen before on theses specific houses.
