This first photo has some giant haciendas in it. The next photo is all the way to the left and contain 5 of my favorites. #1 is an EXTREMELY early and no doubt rare tray based hacienda. It shows the early type of print on the orange places a hand stamped overprint of an adobe pattern. It is clear that this exceedingly early building intended from the first to take a serious look at southwester culture and try to market to what most in the 1930's would have considered a narrow market. Given the numbers of the Haciendas they hit a home run with the style. The #2 has obvious design elements that are seldom seen such as the corbelled corner pieces and this one shows expert sprayed on overspray likely using the blow-pipe. Number 3 is what looks closer to a Halloween house given the colors and the witchy little woman with the spooky tree. This was one of the Donut maker houses. Number 4 is a sort of primary colored version of an early hacienda church bright and colorful. And 5 is a clearly hacienda design but what I call the Pastel Haciendas with their sold pastel colors. This one having the colors of Cheese and lime green so popular in the early 1930's.
