I am pleased to post fellow collector L's amazing 2013 putz village--spread out over 2 posts. She says: This year the theme was to emulate a Pennsylvania Dutch Moravian putz; hence the large manger scene front and center. The manger and figures are all from the early '40's as that's when my parents bought them and they were under our tree throughtout the years my sister and I were growing up. The tree is decorated in the Czech/Bohemian tradition: The vegetables are first as they are from and closest to the ground. The next layers are: the fruit, animals, people, birds, angels, stars and the sun and the moon at the top. People will probably recognize the big white church from Ted's collection. It is quite big. The other two houses are vintage 30's Japan. On the other side of the manger are three American loggies and a German windmill. The castle is Karl Fey's.

VERY nice, thanks for posting. Those are the "Woolworths" nativity figures I grew up with. I have tried to collect some of the same figures - the story of that effort is here: http://familychristmasonline.com/musing ... tivity.htm |
