Years ago before I was a collector of Japanese houses I did put up a putz. At that time I was completely unfamiliar with much more than the Coleman's we had as a child or the Dolly toy set I picked up at a flea market and so I made most of my houses. I had found a vintage Nativity set and added a few pieces. These were the Italian "mud" figures that are so beautifully hand painted. And it became the centerpiece of the display and around it were arranged houses I had built. Some from a Dover Victorian Village book and the balance I made from paper and card. "Those were the days my friend, We thought they'd never end.." |
