good afternoon...

this house was a lot of work!...it was inspired by the "december 2009 house of the month" on ted's site...mine is not an exact copy...just similar...i did add a dormer on the long side of the roof and put mica flakes, white sand and glitter over the entire piece...(i believe there was too much white sand in the mix this time)...base is 5 1/4" x 7 3/4"...total height is 6"...

when i make another one (and i probably will) it will be larger...really needs the extra size to show off the following...coarse sand finish...all the painted details (paint colors may need to be more intense)...window mullions...bark fence...will probably make luffah trees for the next one...house will have just a dusting of mica (no overall glitter finish)...

happy new year to all...my very best regards...

howard...here in north florida...no snow...but may get down into mid 30's tonight...

Really great, Howard. If you are going to make luffa trees, could you take some photos of the process and post them? I need more detail--I can't seem to do a decent job and need to actually see what gets glued to what to make a tree. (Anyone else who's making luffa trees--photos of the in-between stages would be appreciated.

Thanks, Howard. The restoring of my old luffa trees worked well, it's the new ones that I'm having trouble with. I'll give Tom Hull's instructions on PapaTed's web site another try. The bottle-brush trees I restored using that technique worked well.
We're having mild weather here in sunny Southern California, too. I can pick my neighbor's tangerines that hang over into my yard (with his permission, of course).

First time here. Wow, what a site and sight.

Age 75 and I well remember Christmas 1941, no windup trains in the stores that came from Japan.
1946, my brother got an American Flyer. We never had electricity on the farm until May 1945.

The link to this site came from a cousin of mine who used to live in Nashville, and her father was a Steam Engineer on the NC&StL from Nashville to Chattanooga.
