Thank you ladies! Owe a lot to Tom Hull, whose method of removing, sprinkling with water and ironing flat errant pieces of cardboard got me through a major part of the renovations. Plus some kind person shared their rice paper with me!

THOSE ARE THE INTERESTING VERY EARLY WINDOWS that I was trying to find in other houses!
It seems that they are only in the big lakkies, and probably were only done for one year. Very rare!
I am sure Barb experienced this, but these particular very early, and BIG, lakkies have SLIGHTLY larger window openings than you find in the usual sized houses.
I hand cut "die cut" windows for my version of this house. Mine had no remnants of anything under that side window. Really plain.
I made orange die cut windows for mine and they look pretty good. I need to photograph my versions to show everyone but I don't know how to post photos to this blog.
SO GLAD to know that Pat has a house with this window type. ANYONE ELSE?
I will catch up with Barb off line.

OK, checking out Barb's house, it is the earlier version of the one in the BairClan set from Ted's /Howard's photo. Check out the rectangular framed openings in Barb's version and compare them to the BairClan example. The BairClan house has a flat-arched left side window and full arched windows flanking the front door.
I have two versions of a different house from the BairClan set, and the two have these same window differences. Its why I don't want to part with either one. They are the same house but probably made one season apart.
Ahhh, its only one of the small things that makes this hobby so interesting!
