Wonderful restoration and reproduction ladies! Where did you get that beautiful colored gravel at? That looks so authentic! :)

Will, the gravel is just white gravel from Hobby Lobby. I painted it with watered down acrylic paint.

Howard, Santa indeed did get a refreshing. Stay tuned for pics later today. Thanks for asking.

I just purchased the bird cage gravel that Howard has talked about, this is smaller than the gravel I have, so I am hoping to avoid the grinding and sifting Laurie had to do, but her efforts paid off it looks great. For my next project I will need white and black gravel, but can't find it any where, everything I look at is to large. I did get the scenic sand, but this is to fine. Thanks for any help. :)

Hey Lynn,

If you're using white and black gravel to get that white stucco finish with black speckles seen on some of the houses, I've had good luck with the white gravel you told me about from Michael's, shaken up in an empty spice shaker with coarse German glass glitter in black.

Love your candy box project!

The restoration is finished! Yes John, it did turn out to be a labor of love, but it was worth it in the end. I would do it again. Now I'm anxious to see how Lynn's reproduction turns out. I'm sure it will be great.
