Hello All:

During the summer I was dealing with some carpal tunnel issues and my xacto cutting hand was doing PT and resting.

I stumbled across some vintage figures on Ebay.

They were called "Pinecone Dwarfs" I thought they were cool.
I found a kit to put together some.

I bought the kit and liked them so much, for the rest of the summer I research materials and learn how to make
molds so I could reproduce the faces. I also found out what spun cotton balls are as these figures are built from them.
I was not a fan of the looks of them sitting on a pinecone so I made some logs using dowel wrapped with corro card board.

I also found on line some santa figure that are made in a similar fashion.

And the third figure was a copy of one I got with an Ebay auction I won.

I was amazed how much time the research took. But I'm pleased with the results.
The pictures don't do them justice.

No snow in Vermont yet.
May not have a white Christmas,

These are wonderful! I have some vintage ones from my childhood that come out every Christmas season to display. The ones I have use pinecones for the body of the elves. They always make me smile.

Steve,
I love these. I would like to see more about how you made them. They are delightfully "putzish".

I love these! I have vintage ones from my childhood that I bring out every year. They are a little worse for wear as I played with them pretty hard as a child. Merry Christmas!

Laney, and all...
I’ve been experimenting with a couple of these...recommendation...DO NOT use foam balls...go with the real thing...spun cotton...don’t ask how I know...
