If you are a real person whose health issues or such keep you from signing in or posting, and you want to remain on the rolls, please contact me privately and let me know.
If you are a real person who has been participating all along, giving positive feedback to other members, and posting your own projects and questions, BLESS YOU - this resource wouldn't be the wonderful place it is without your effort and encouragement.
Otherwise, please sign in once in a while and post once in a while so that I know you are interested in participating. That's as easy as saying "good job" when someone else posts something impressive. Better yet, post questions or examples of your own projects, so the discussion keeps going and growing.
Last year, because of an influx of thousands of fake signups, I went through and purged the membership rolls, not only of the obvious fakes, but also of people who signed up but NEVER posted. (I suspected many of them as being fake, but there was no way of knowing at the time.)
I also removed a bunch of members who were barely active in the first place, and who haven't signed on within the last two or three years. (I am reminded of those churches that claim 2,000 members but only have a few dozen in attendance on Sunday mornings)
Why be such a "hard-nose" about this sort of thing? Carrying fake names and non-participants on the rolls complicates my attempts to maintain the integrity of our membership rolls, and to keep this resource as a "safe place" for people who really want to be a part of what is going on.
That said, from this point on, if you are discontinued for inactivity and wish to rejoin later you will need to rejoin under the current policy, which includes a requirement that you post at least once, and that you pay a nominal subscription fee ($1 a month). I apologize for any inconvenience, but the new policy has already filtered out dozens of fakers, and it hasn't seriously inconvenienced anyone who really wanted to participate. Plus it has already saved me countless hours of unnecessary busy work. So it's going to stay in place for the foreseeable future.
Please use the Contact page to ask me any questions about these policies or membership in general.
