Amazingly, this is my second Christmas house this year. Usually I don't start on them until November. I continue to play around with the stone texture. I think I am getting better at painting the stones. This is the latest one called the Christmas Farmhouse in Stone.

You couldn't improve on the stonework.

Again, amazing.

thanks for showing the paint used.

Is the yellow just a dry brush highlight.

Steve,
I didn’t end up using the yellow because I figured it was yellow enough, but I was going to add yellow highlights using a dry brush.

Looking awesome Lucy! Is the distressed paint like a watered-down acrylic? I can't find it here in the Philippines, so-- I need to try to make my own with what I have on hand. Thanks for your help friend! :)

Yes, it is a thin acrylic. I use this brand now mostly because I know the colors so well, but I believe any acrylic thinned down would do. You just need a family of shades to give dimension to the stones.

Love the stone houses! It definitely a technique I want to try out.
