I love using the flickering led tea lights. Most of the houses I make so I can pick them up & put the little led lights under them. This also works great for storing, in that I can seperate the platforms from the houses when putting them away for the next year. |

I sometimes use the electric tea lights for houses--they can be very effective but you have to remember to turn them off--and buy them by the dozens from the 99 cents store. |

How do you fashion your houses so you can lift them up to put them down on one of the LED lights? I thought I saw a suggestion on this site but I can't find it again. |

Nan - some people use checkers to lift their houses high enough for the led lights (when the hole is on the BOTTOM of the house); they hide the checkers by spray painting them white and with cotton batting and snow flakes. I also hide the wires with sparkling garland, usually silver or white--the cheap stuff you find in the supermarket or five and dime. see photo--I tape the wires down or use bobby pins to hold them in place if i am using a styrofoam base as is the case in this photo
