Interesting solution Howard. I think the star is a nice addition. Do you cut that by hand?

hi, laurie...
no "star" punch...just an xacto knife with a sharp #11 blade...i do use a 6-inch steel ruler as a cutting guide...and wear +3.00 magnifying read glasses...

greetings to all...

finished my first manger ornament this morning...a lot more color than the vintage originals...used the extra fine sulyn brand glitter posted earlier in this topic...the deer was originally painted brown...after being mounted with epoxy cement on a small cardboard base (like a flattie) he got a coat of gray spray primer and several coats of pearl white metallic craft paint...the star window material is ordinary red tissue paper...will probably use red acetate on all the rest...got about five more to make...but will only do one at a time...

my very best regards...howard...

These colors really go so well together and painting the deer pearl is a great choice, nice job I really like it!! :D I love seeing everyones different styles. It would be neat to get them all together :D

Well here's my attempt at a repro.

Used some German glass silver glitter. I'm hoping over time it will tarnish a bit.

Excellent repros. Steve, give them a couple of months and they'll tarnish nicely.

To answer a question.

I got the glitter from an ebay store.

http://stores.ebay.com/sugarcampcottage/

It was the 90 grit real silver.

My goal was to see if it tarnished and started looking more vintage.

Steve
