OK, I bought my fine glitter, printed out the pattern for the manger and the paper baby Jesus.
So my question is... how did you install the baby Jesus?? Did you make an L bracket from cardboard? a triangle or square of cardboard glued behind him and to the floor base? Or Howard,,, did you do the match stick trick?

Hi Debbie I used 1/4" by 1/4" piece of basswood glued to the back of baby Jesus and then to the botton of the manger. I did paint it to match the color of the manger. Make sure you post some pictures.

OMG! Why do I never check the Welcome forum?! This little ornament is SO cute! I've run out of room on my mantle for houses, but I could definitely make my kids each one of these for the tree this year! Thanks so much for sharing the pattern, Lynn! I'll post pics of mine when I get them done.
(be prepared for a little non-traditional flare :D )

I made them right before Thanksgiving, but just got some pics of them. Both kiddos requested robots. So, the boy (4) has a green robot with a blue manger and the girl (2) has a purple robot with a yellow manger.

They were SO excited to hang them on the tree!

well, well, well...

i've been checking the forum regularly to see what you created!...they're cute as a button...

your little ones should be excited...'cause you've created two family heirlooms...hope you signed and dated each one...

by the way...your robot theme goes way, way back..."hello, flash gordon!"...just to name one...

my very best regards...howard...

ps...i don't know what happened...this is the second time i posted a reply...the first one seems to have "vaporized"...it was there for a few moments...then "poof"...it was gone...

Awe, thanks guys! Our tree has gradually become retro space themed. Not really on purpose, but kinda, LOL. Last year I made a LED space ship tree topper and we have Mars Attack string lights. And its all starting to come together because my hubby is releasing his first retro space shooter mobile game this week on itunes! A lot of Sci Fi going on in our house! :)

How fun! Your ornaments are great and it sounds like quite a theme you have going here.
