greetings to all...

after seeing lucy's latest halloween/fall project...and the gentle prodding of a few forum members...i've jumped into halloween, too...

here's the initial concept sketch...i've adapted a lot of the details and the overall design from looking at many internet images...patterns for the major parts will be posted later this week...there will probably be a "flattie" or two need for this one as well...

i hope you'll build along with me...especially if you like uneven cuts, imperfect folds and lots of room for adding your own details...

my very best regards...howard...

Cool start. The round window kinda looks like Capt America's shield.

I like the columns.

oh Howard, that is so perfect for halloween. The crookedy roof, the torches by the door and the columns are perfect. I love this design.

I smiled when I read "i hope you'll build along with me...especially if you like uneven cuts, imperfect folds and lots of room for adding your own details..." Yes, I like all of that - sounds perfect for me.

The only reason that I haven't ever used anyone else's patterns is because I sell all of my houses. The Dolly houses in particular would be perfect for my fundraiser, but one major condition for being a member of this forum is that you cannot use these patterns for sale. And I really like being a member of this forum.

I can't wait to see more of this project.

lucy...

i can only speak for myself...i have no problem with anyone using patterns for non-profit events...but you'd have to check with other forum members to get their OK...

my very best regards...howard...

That is very exciting. I will be making the witch's lair right with you. I am currently finishing 2 Halloween projects right now, but I will be joining you for this house as I love the design.

Here are the pattern sheets for the body, roof and roof trim plus pictures of the early stages of construction...

The roof is covered with rectangular pieces of cardboard...no measuring here...just cut and glue in place...

I made the step from a scrap of balsa...More pictures and notes later...

My very best regards...Howard...

I wondered how you were going to do the columns, I thought they might be flatties, but no - they have dimension. Great idea. The house is a really elegant design as well. Finishing one more project, then I will get started on the witches lair. Thank you for the design.

good morning halloween fans...

mid-construction update pix and notes...most of cardboard work completed...added shutters on sides...added thick cardboard frames around windows...added a few more shingles...installed columns...torches are next...then on to base...also have to cut window mullions...fence will probably be barbed wire...more details later...
