Greetings to all...
A while back, forum member, Lynn, sent me pictures of a vintage Dolly Company Jack-'O-Lantern she saw on an auction site...I was looking for a new project and this one was perfect...
It's starts as two 7" diameter cardboard disk...the sides and bottom are a wraparound piece with tabs that fit into slits in the faces...the only tricky part is cutting the tabs to fit the slits...cut the slits first...cut the sides leaving the tabs oversize...then trim the tabs to fit in the slits during and initial test to fit preassembly...prebinding the sides is a good idea, too...
The eyes, nose and mouth are white velum colored with neon orange and neon green highlighter...black permanent marker was used for the details on the faces and sides...a wire handle was the finishing touch...I'll illuminate with an LED tea light...
I experimented with super glue to do the final assembly...applying a small amount to the tab and slit areas...I'm pleased with the results...
One more thing...I understand Lucy may be working on files for your craft cutter!...I'm not sure of the timing so stay tuned to her blog...
