Hello Fellow Putzers. Although I like my Cricut Maker it has some idiosyncrasy's that are time consuming and annoying. It's the best model that I researched for my purposes but has many limitations. Next step... Laser Cutting Machine. They are very affordable these days and are extremely versatile. After the Cricut the learning curve on this machine was minimal. In a much shorter time I can cut out much thicker cardboard and wood. The fineness in detail is amazing! Here are my first attempts at cutting heavy chipboard. Notice the uncut fence, I didn't have the timing right so it only cut partialy through the sheet. Had to slow the movement down. Picture two shows some other fences that I cut using the dimension of the original 1930's putz houses. I need another lifetime to get everything done that I'd like to do before I leave this earth. It would be fun to actually cut some patterns of my original designs.

Pete… Well, I knew it was only a matter of time before you jumped into the deep end of the pool and got a laser cutter!…when your quiet on the forum I know you’re up to something!…something exciting, too… I wonder how a laser cutter would cut out “flatties “… Howard… |
