The cutter arrived today and it is WONDERFUL! I tested it on some fairly heavy weight cardboard, placed the cutter on it and gave it a few wacks with a hammer, and voila! Beautiful scallops!

I'm attaching some pix of the cutter, and also of the result.

I am planning to invest in one of those Harbor Freight variety arbor presses, which I hope will save my fingers from getting wacked with the hammer, and also distribute the pressure evenly to get a nice cut.

The owner of the ETSY site, by the way, could not be more pleasant and careful to get it right.

Barb, I'll take two yards of the fence!

Really great to see how this hobby has evolved and it is due to many of you who invest time and money on perfecting the technique of making houses and their "parts" and sharing in this forum.

Here's the link to the Etsy store.

http://www.etsy.com/listing/161443252/s ... steel-rule

Coming from a family of printers. For the price that die looks real good.

I would think an arbor press would make it a bit easier.

Or maybe some kinda of a platen press.

I may take the plunge on a door sized die.

Barb, another question. Did you send them a JPG or BMP of the fence outline for the company to work from.

All in all, pretty exciting.

Hi Steve,

I sent them a jpg file, but they have several alternative file types listed on their ETSY site.

Good luck!
