I don't know anything about this unusual cardboard house. It's definitely in a class of its own compared to my other houses! It used to be lit by miniature bell lights (Italian?), but I assume they were damaged or stopped working and someone added the aluminum piece with large bulbs clipped on. I have not tried to clean or repair it. I'd like to fix it, but without completely removing the cardboard bottom (someone made a jagged, exploratory hole - probably trying to repair the original lights) there's no access to the tiny light wiring.

Very interesting and BIG house Hillary. Looks 1950'ish. Thanks for sharing & welcome to the forum! |

It is really cool. I haven't seen anything like it either. Perhaps Tom or Pete will comment and know something more about houses like this. What a treasure! |

Had a 50's feel....many of the mercury bead houses were 50's and early 60's I believe... |

For those of you considering how to replicate the mercury glass beads found on some of these made in japan putz houses, this post has a wonderful method--it's part of a larger project she made--well worth the visit--the "faux" beads look fantastic on her tree.... http://www.oneluckyday.net/2014/12/a-vi ... -some.html |
