2026 Project No. 11 -- A Cottage for Two Famous Cartoon Characters

Greetings to all,

First, please note that I’ll reveal the two famous cartoon characters when I share photos of the finished cottage at a later date. The cottage is in the paint shop right now getting two coats of white primer before the colorful finish colors and glitter are applied. This updated design builds on a series of earlier houses, so it already has some history behind it and a precedent has already been set for the theme. You can, of course, use different figurines in the front yard if you so choose.

As the photos show, this cottage has more trim details than my usual cardboard houses, but the basic structure is simple. The three PDFs include patterns for the main pieces. Applying the scalloped trim and other details will be shown in additional photos and sketches which I'll attach in a day or so.

Greetings to all,

Another Little Glitter House project is finished and I’m certain no one needs an introduction to Mickey and Minnie.

I found the 2 1/4” high figurines at a local Dollar Tree store a couple of weeks ago. They were only $1.75 cents each. A far more reasonable price than all the other similar figurines I’ve seen.

The cottage I made is a classic putz style that fits the more updated look of the figures. I tried the figures with the original loggie cardboard houses, but they looked out of place.
