Here's my version of the side entry house. I made my 3 sided tree based on the construction method of an original tree from one of my Dolly houses. (pic enclosed)

laurie...

i did not know there was a "three side dolly tree"...look like you get just as full a tree with less cutting!...gotta try it!...(since i have about four more dolly houses to build)...

my very best regards...howard...(still learning something new everyday)...

More Dolly goodness. Overall the patterns look simple, but the variation in the designs everyone has done is amazing. These houses surprise me every time.

Laurie, thank you for showing us the 3-sided tree - that makes things easier and helps it fit on the base better. Very nice to know. I just love your L-shaped Dolly.

Howard, do you hand cut the Dolly fence? Everything is so even that it looks like it's been die cut - that's why I ask. Also can you tell me about the glitter - it looks like a really fine glitter on the house, but coarser on the fence?

Thank you for continuing the Dolly series. It is great.

Lucy...

You're right...the base glitter is coarser that that on the house...I use the Michael's brand ("Creatology" is the name I think) and the Sulyn brand that Hobby Lobby sells...I've also added a small amount of mica flakes to the glitter...

The fence and gate are cut by hand...no dies...the key is careful measuring and layout with a sharp pencil, using a steel ruler as a cutting guide and a sharp blade...

My very best regards...Howard...
