Brian B's Putz village 12-2012

Please use this forum for photos of your putz villages - some of you don't make your own houses, but you still display a lot of artistry when you combine and arrange them. And the rest of us would love to see your work. Again, it works best if you resize your photos to 800px wide or less before you upload them - Paul

Thank you for the kind words on my village. I started my personal collection in 2004, previous to that I got to enjoy my dads collection and my grandma's who started collecting in 1946. :)

Will, believe it or not that Windmill Hacienda was one of my first houses and I got lucky it was in a lot of some pretty undesirable stuff. I used Tom's cornstarch cleaning method to remove a ton of black soot from it. When I take my village down I'll grab some better pics of it and some measurements. I know its missing a tree on the right side, it has a nifty little holder for it.

If anybody wants to play a game.... On my big village there is only one house that is not an original or made in Japan house from the 30's, 40's or 50's. It has an original base but it was missing a house so I built one. We'll see if anybody can spot it. :)

Good job Will, you totally nailed it!! That was quick! Looks a little brighter than the others. I had to paint the body twice to get it close to the same color as the original house I used for inspiration, I think the first time I painted it, it was a darker blue.

Next year Im going to buy a little Waldo figure and hide him! :D

For Will... I have 2 or 3 different Hacienda Windmills. I think they're from the Papa Ted Collection.
I'll try and find them and get a couple of photos for you...

Hello Friends!

I have a twin brother and I was over at his house several times over the holidays, I snagged a few pics of his putz village. One of these days I'll get him to join the forum. :)

Nice collection. I see he has a clock house. I'd really like to make a repro of one of those.

Always have 2017.

Is your brother an engineer? Everything is so orderly.

I love the display. Everyone's collections are absolutely amazing.

Steve, I actually got that clock house for my brother. It's missing its base, but I restored the clock and windows for him. I'm going to get it back from him so I can fix the base at some point. Let me know if you need dimensions, I have this one in my collection too.

Lucy, hes not an engineer, but he does have a little OCD. :) I will pass on the complements. I agree, I've been blown away by all the awesome putz villages shared this past season!
