Hello everyone,
I have been watching with interest the Dolly Village houses and I have a question. Is this little house a Dolly? I purchased it several years ago because I liked the style of the house. It reminded me of storybook houses from the 1930's.
On the bottom is a sticker from WT Grant for a dime.

Yes Lee, it's a Dolly. The door and Windows are the dead give away. ;)

Dolly Toy Co. had several different sets of houses with different finishes. Here are a couple more samples of printed Dollys like yours Lee.

I love the whole Dolly discussion. Is Lee's house reparable? Or is it essentially a rebuild? Is the base printed? I don't see that particular base on the other Dollies. I really hadn't noticed the white space around the doors and windows either. It's funny all the details you notice when you really look at the houses.

Thank you for the additional pictures. I love these little printed houses.

I think this house is beyond restoration. I have thought about dismantling it and scanning it to make a file and then restoring the scan and build a new one. I hate to take it apart like that. What I will most likely do is make measurements and build a traditional putz house in the same style.
