Greetings to all...

Here's a recently completed project...(see the first two pictures)...it's based on the September 2001 House of the Month on Ted's site...(see the last picture)...I didn't know if I would like the lilac color base the original house had...but now know it's perfect and goes well with the country tan and Christmas red house and the green trees...

The base measures 4 1/2" x 9" x 3/4" thick...overall height, including the base, is 5 1/2"...I'll let the pictures my little glitter house version tell rest of the story...

My very best regards...Howard...

It's just luscious Howard. I like the extra touches of red you added, especially the red fence posts. They add a special Christmas feel to the house. Are the windows purchased, or did you add red strips like your gold ones? Or possibly cut them out of red paper? I'm working on a Lackie and need to reproduce green windows like these.

Laurie...
the windows mullions are red scrapbooking paper...I cut the openings by hand with an xacto #11 blade craft knife...then painted the cut out mullions with two coats of minwax brand clear gloss polycrylic finish...the window glazing is red acetate...
Hope this helps...Howard...

Note...i beleive Pete sells window mullions already cut out...

Thanks Howard, it does help. I didn't have exact measurements of the windows for my Lackie, so have to do custom windows. I just finished cutting out the panes, and it is really hard to get them to be consistent. I'm settling for 'close enough.' Since I'm shellacking the whole house I can skip the coating part of the mullions but it's good to know the product for future reference.

Just a note. To get a "glossy" look I have used "modge Podge" Remember that 70's "hippy" product? It works too and was left over from that era! Tom
