My 1st detailed "MCM" putz house... (W.I.P)

Good day all! I have here an MCM (Mid Century Modern) putz house that I am working on. I want to install some windows now, but-- I'm stuck! I dunno what I should put in them. Any suggestions please? This is kind of a rendition of the "Palm Springs, CA." houses. I am actually thinking of making a whole neighborhood of them. What do you all think of the color schemes? Any input would be greatly appreciated!

I cast my vote for AN ALUMINUM (silver) CHRISTMAS TREE...

A whole neighborhood of MCM houses? ABSOLUTELY and EMPHATICALLY Y E S !!!!!! You can set this on up as the "model home" for your new neighborhood. As Howard suggested, an aluminum Christmas tree would be great window dressing.

In case you haven't seen the Retro Renovation website, here is a link to their series of 11 MCM Christmas houses. They may give inspiration for windows and rooflines and colors. They really got carried away with the whole idea. Great stuff.

Please continue to share pics of your growing neighborhood. Incorporating cars from the MCM period is easier than pre-war because so many more toys are available. And in my mind, MCM necessarily includes automobiles and architecture.

Thank you DCrowe for the website link. Yes, I saw their designs a few years back, and it looks as if they added a few more! Sweet inspiration for future builds... And you're right, there will be cars, tikis, palm trees, and vibrant COLORS. Lots of it! Here's another "just for fun" pic I took last night of what I'm thinking of adding into the mix-- OoOoOoh, this is going to be a FUN project! Have a great Sunday all!... :)

***UPDATE***

Okay, the "garage" has been attached. I have also put a teak stained wood trim around the windows and the garage door opening. Working on the tree next. Getting there my friends!

Thanks for the compliment on the stonework John. It was probably the most fun part! I used to do decorative concrete overlay years ago in Jacksonville, Florida. But, doing this on a "miniature" level was quite the challenge, :geek: but worth it. Here's another pic of my progress tonight-- The Aluminum Xmas Tree is in the window Howard! I also made an orange door with a starburst door knob and a diamond window for MCM era accuracy. Project is coming along! Now-- for the base and outdoor deco. Any advice my good friends?...

Will,
This is a treasure. I love all the details. The stone work is wonderful. I would like to hear a little more about that. The "Welcome to Oasis" sign cracked me up. And I have to second Howard's suggestion - pink flamingos. So many great ideas here and such a creative and imaginative house.
