"Dolly Church" with three windows...

Greetings to all...

Oh, boy!...another "Dolly" reproduction....and there may be more in the future...at least I hope so...

Thanks to Lynn and Kelly, we now have the arched windows...you can download and print them (along with the round window) via the PDF...

Suggestion...print out the windows before you cut the openings...I cut my openings undersized and carefully trimmed for the best fit...you might want to cut a pattern for the arched openings out of card stock or manila folder to get the best fit...and then transfer the openings to the cardboard front...

I cut my roofs slightly oversized...and trimmed for the best fit...

Also note that there are four roof tabs...they are glued in the inside edge of the front and back walls on each side of the tower...

Hope all this makes sense...if not...let me know....

Howard...

Here are the windows and a couple of pictures of the project...I choose a 3/4" high raised base...the same as the other "Dolly" houses and churches in my versions of the series of reproductions...

I'm still trying to decide on the glitter colors for the church...somehow a purple body and pink roof is on the top of the list...time will tell...

This is my Dolly Church "repro" I made over a year ago. You're right Howard, you need those tabs to hold that little roof together. Have fun with this one everybody!

Will...

I thought I remembered that someone had made a repro of the church...guess I didn't dig far enough into past topics to find it...

Do you own a vintage original of the church?...I know you have quite a collection...

What a nice design for a church. I like how you made the roof tabs to make the tower. It looks like it will keep the house nice and square.

Go for the purple and pink. It will be beautiful.

Good morning Howard,

I think I do have an original, but I'll have to dig around in my boxes to find it. I also have the plans for some more Dolly churches if anyone's interested. I will post them here when found as well. My crafting room is a disaster zone of sorts at this moment! Here's a pic of the ones I built so far--

I give up. What makes a "Dolly Church?" They are all very sweet.

BurghGal,
They were a brand of putz house made in the USA during the 2nd world war. The official name of the company is: Dolly Toy Co. You'll find a lot on them on Pinterest. Hope this helps! :)

I also made a reproduction of this church, and Howard, I have an original, but I don't remember if it has the steeple. I'll check if you're interested. My repro is in the 'Dolly' series you and Lynn started. I drew my own windows so it's nice to see we have the patterns now.
