Glitter House 001

Happy Holidays,
I may annotate the drawings in the future but, the examples were built from the pdf files as printed on 8.5x11 paper at 100% scale. Patterns are loosely based on the original. It wasn't my intention to create a reproduction, I just liked the original shape in general.
Picture of the original was clipped from Pinterest. Windows and doors were printed on tracing paper from patterns found on this forum.
Forgive me if I haven't given proper credit to someone.
Blessings,
Steven

Steven...
Old Howard is really looking forward to building some houses with someone else's patterns!...i'm envious of your CAD skills, too!...

i'm still mostly planted in the last century with paper, pencil and a ruler!...

hope you will continue to post all your creations...you have it all figured out!...
Merry Christmas...
Howard...

Howard -
I do plan on continuing to post my patterns as next year rolls along. You and your website get the credit for my new found love of the hobby. I'm sure you can see plenty of your influences in the work and train layout. Thank you for that, it's most appreciated.
Have you ever given CAD a try? The pencil, paper and ruler skills do transfer over once you get the hang of the basics.

I have thought about trying to learn...but really don't know what software to even consider...

The patterns are great. Thank you for sharing them.
The initial problem for me is finding cheap software for a CAD program.

That's a link to the software I used for those patterns. It's a good open source program. Actually more robust than necessary for what we're doing here.

What file format(s) can you save your drawings in using this software?
Thanks for the great designs!

With the free version - .dxf and export to .pdf
The "Pro" version allows for more file types. Do you have a particular file type in mind?

I use a Cricut machine to cut some of my houses and it will accept only certain file types. Happily, DXF is one of them! I usually use Adobe Illustrator to make SVG files, but this CAD software would be worth a try to see what I like better.
Thanks for the info!
