This year my village moved to a new room and I had a speaker to deal with on top of our armoire. So I added a few boxes and turned it into a mountain village. Most of the houses and vignettes are similar, but I added a skating rink this year and the green and red house behind the church. The rink is a piece of leftover stainless steel from a project of my husbands. The house is cleaned up but I haven't finished the full restoration yet. Here are a few pics:

Laurie....

Have just spent several enjoyable minutes viewing your mountain village... especially the close ups. I love your little red coconut house with the white/green roof, and the little black building with the red corrugated roof... don't recall ever seeing either building before. Loving the action with all the little figures, especially the Christmas Tree Lot, and that poor fellow sprawled on the ice. Ouch!! Thanks for sharing.

Brian, the people are HO scale railroad figures. Most of them are Preiser ( sp?) brand. HO is the closest scale to the houses but I sometimes wish I had gone with 'O' scale which are bigger and easier to see. I do like that the figures appear to fit the era of the buildings.

I love this whole set-up. The people are incredible. I like how so many of them are holding their hands together like they are cold. And then the guy who fell down on the skating rink is so funny. The houses as always are incredible. The "mountain" was an inspired way to overcome the challenge of the speaker.

I don't remember - are these houses reproductions or restorations or a combination of both. They are wonderful. Thank you for sharing.
