Tri Tower Castle...

greetings to all...

there's just something about castles, or buildings that look like castles, several of us on the forum can't resist...Maria, Steve and Lynn brought this structure to my attention at almost the same time...here's a link to original topic conversation... https://www.cardboardchristmas.com/foru ... =17&t=1677
it immediately went to the top of the "to be built" list...forum member, Barb, also sent some comments as well...

there is the question about what the top on the vintage original actually looked like...we're not sure...but we made a "somewhat educated guess"...and decided to replicate the lower tower look spires on the top...the upper part could even have been a clock tower...perhaps a forum member has an original piece and can post a picture within this topic thread...i'll draw a pattern for the part and post it here...i've also decided not to permanently attach the top tower just in case i want to change it to that of the original...

i'll post three pattern sheets shortly...

my very best regards...

howard...

I think you nailed Howard. I have many samples of these type of Castles/Churches and I think you got it. If I were to guess I'd say that the tower is a little short? Someday we'll know for sure. Personally I can't believe this one sold for as much as it did! I had a high bid on it and was sure I'd get it for a song and a dance. Nope, someone paid $270.00 I think? Great interpretation Howard.

update...2-22-2018...

here are three typical cel windows for the tri tower castle...the white cardboard has been cut to fit a specific opening or space...blue tape holds the window in place on the cardboard...each cardboard piece, with tape mounted window, has been test fitted so that it aligns perfectly with the opening...i use Aleene's tacky glue for final installation...

this method works for me...

Ok I'll be the first to post my house.
another great set of plans from Howard.

My colors are way more vibrant.
Funny how when you start to paint you notice
a few errors you made.

Oh, an this house is tall. barely fit in my photo booth.

You guys are so productive. The castle looks great Steve. Will you display it with other houses?

There's another house similar to this.
So the pattern is 50% done or so.

I may take on that one soon.
So this house can have a sister.
