2026 Project No. 5 — Little Glitter House Version of Vintage House from the Toy Train Museum

Greetings to all,

A longtime e-friend, renowned for his world-class model making and craftsmanship, sent me a photograph of a charming house on display at the National Toy Train Museum in Strasburg, Pennsylvania. The moment I saw the image, I knew I wanted to create my own version, incorporating similar details and, of course, covering it with glitter.

The features that immediately caught my attention were the stepped entry roof detail and the simplicity of the design, which allowed the house’s charm to shine through with just a single door and one window.

The process for constructing this house is essentially the same as for the many others I have shared previously, so I won’t go into those details here.
Please refer to the two PDFs for the patterns and the work-in-progress photographs.

I will share a picture of the completed house and any updates later. Stay tuned and stay creative.

Howard

That's a terrific take on an unusual little building. Nicely done, Howard. Oozes 1930s style...

I have an upcoming trip to the Toy Train Museum later this month...I'll have to look for their display.
