Three miniature paper houses from Grandfather's "garden"

I think these little German houses are still my favorite of what I have left of my grandfather's Christmas village (Charles Town, West Virginia). I love the detail! Papa Ted's site shows an advertisement for similar houses dated 1927; I have only these three of the set. If I can find my 1966 photograph of Granddaddy's actual village under the tree, I'll post it in the putz village photo forum. The village included two German Belsnickles, assorted celluloid animals, a lead fisherman, and a great flocked camel!

Vanna, these are wonderful; the old German houses have a charm all their own. I will be posting a link to your photos in my next vintage posting at my blog. In the meantime, you may enjoy seeing these German houses coming up for auction at Serioustoyz here in Croton. Click on the link. http://everythingcroton.blogspot.com/20 ... us_13.html

Thanks to all who commented on my little German houses! After searching this week, I did find a small photo of my grandfather's village under his tree, so I will post that next, along with photos of the Belsnickles and the flocked camel, under the Putz Village forum.

Some years back Ted posted a page from a catalog dated 1927 and we speculated that they were German and later a lady from Holland sent him a set and they were maked Germany. Lovely pieces but believe these were more toys than anything though people would have used them for putz villages.
