Thanks for the link. There are some great examples of candy boxes in the photos. One has a variation of the yellow-and-green stick-on-door that I haven't seen before.

Who is this Alkaputzer of whom we speak????!!!


I was so drawn to the vertical putz's when I saw them at the Golden Glow, and would love to try my hand at them. No clue where to start though... particularly since they seem to feature a lot of printed (lithographed... I have no clue) features like doors, windows, clock faces, etc., rather than the cut out and glued on ones that we see on the standalone houses.

So, Alkaputzer, how are you going to do this?? And will you share??

Yes that "stacked" or vertical putz is interesting but it is a single piece from Czechloslovokia as I recall but there are other ways of getting verticality that may be simpler. For your interest I have enclosed pictures of my mantel puts. Some of the houses are on small boxes, books and even bricks. Whatever is handy and elevates it as I wish. Nothing really constructed and fairly easy to do. I have a couple of pictures of my mantel putz in one permution. No streets of course but this is a village not a city and people just sort of wander around - at least that is what they tell me
