A few weeks back, I posted a pic of a house I'd never seen.

Paul had said it was more than likely a Lakkie.

I really liked the design so I gave it a shot.
Thanks to howard for some coaching on dimensions.

Turned out pretty good. The colors a bit off.
I'm thinking of adding a US flag and a small post office mailbox to complete the scene.

Thanks for looking,

Steve

Snowed last night, but Christmas eve is supposed to be almost 60 deg.
Should melt it all away.

Nicly done and I think a flag and a mailbox would be nice additions.

That's a great post office. The stairs are impressive.

Steve, There is a whole set of these. They are the paper version of the smaller composition houses that were made for train layouts. You run across them from time to time on eBay. That's how I collected them. I like your version. Good job!!

Great lakkie! I'm not sure the era you are going for, but how about a postal delivery vehicle as an accessory along with the green mailbox? With all of the pics of various postal vehicles over the years available online, it couldn't be too difficult to fold a few pieces of cardboard into a reasonable replica. Jeeps especially are composed of mostly flay panels.

You might also search ebay for a Lindberg plastic kit of a small mail truck which was made in 1/87 or HO scal (approximately). It is a cute little 1950s piece. Examples are ebay numbers 221972978298 and 272078024285.

Lots of good ideas for you. I like the lackie finish. Did you use gloss paint or spray shellac or varnish on it?
