Newest house

Post by PutzinVT »

So I saw an Ebay auction of a house I've never seen.
It appears to be made in the 1950's.

The thing that caught my eye was a light up tree.
Seems the tree sat on top of a C7 christmas light bulb.

It had holes drilled in it then the hole were covered with colored cellophane.

when light up it lite up w/ multi colors.

The auction house is the first shown.

my house unlite and lite are below it.

Be careful of the bulb you use--the old ones used a bulb that could set the tree on fire--the originals had a cardboard framework for the tree

So how I duplicated the tree.

First the house base has a C7 socket base embedded into the house base.

No worry about fire. I used a LED C7 bulb. Produces no heat.

For the tree you start with a paper cone.

Mine were store bought. but you could make your own.

It is then cut to size. And painted green.

After painted, I punched 6 rows of holes with a deep throated 1/8" punch.

you then add 6 strips of cello on the inside.

Now you add some really big glitter. Mine is arrangement plastic stones used for floral arrangements.

I need to spray with a clear coat after, as the big glitter tended to fall off.

Place it on top of the LED c7 bulb and your done.
