Hi Howard,
I love the colors you chose! What is your lighting source for this one?

replies...
paul...sorry...no "meat trays"...but i did use cereal box cardboard, the back of a scratch tablet and a parts of a soda cracker box...
lee...lighting was nothing more than an old fashioned pen light flashlight with a layer of paper towel over the tip to diffuse the light...i also ran the image through "picassa" photo processing software...it's free software and easy to use, too...
steve...not sure which one will be next...probably not the "yellow one"...lynn is building that one...why don't you build one and post here?...i got my mica flakes several years ago...i bought a pound if i remember correctly...i do know that the vendor i used no longer sell mica...but there are a ton of sources on line for mica flakes...maria may have a good source...if not...search mica flakes on google...note...mica is mica...but some vendors try to use fancy packaging and marketing hype to inflate the prices...so shop around...i also ran my mica flakes through a hand crank flower sifter to make the flakes small...
keep in touch...my very best regards...howard...

Howard - I enjoy seeing how you take a simple pattern and make something wonderful out of it. I just bought some mica flakes (for the 2nd time-1st source sent a strange product) and wondered if you could make the flakes finer. I'll need to go hunting at thrift shops. Thanks for all your information.

I used an old electric coffee grinder to grind mica flakes finer.

Hi Howard I love it. The colors are great. I have been debating between the glitter and the mica but after seeing how great yours looks I want to try the mica on mine you made a great choice.
