Got a little more done. I trimmed the roof up, built the balconies, and shot it with a couple quick sparys of primmer. I think it's ready for some finish after I do a little more clean up around the windows. Im hoping the sandy texture will hide the corregation in the main balcony a bit. I'm going to build a new base for this one, and do the blue house on the original base. I decided to do this because the new house wont cover up the markings the original house left on the base and I don't want to alter it.
Hope everyone is enjoying their Saturday!

Happy Mothers Day!

Well I finished up the house last night. I used the Pete's coconut for the roof. For application I mixed Aleene's craft glue into the acrylic paint. I did this for both the sand finish and the coco.
Now I need to pick up some beads and build a base.
Thanks!

A few more pics...
I saw Howard uses a blue background and it really shows the details well, so I found an old folder to use.
The last pic I was messing around with instagram, I love that app for the iPhone!

brian...

i really like the way your house turned out...wonder what it will go for on ebay 50-years from now?...

pix of "my photo studio" attached...

background is piece of 22" x 28" blue poster board...you can see "tinfoil covered cardboard reflectors" on each side...two 48-inch "daylight" shop lights provide most of the illumination...about as simple as it gets...

regarding photography...here's something paul put together a while back...

my very best regards...howard...

Actually the blue house would fit on this nicely as it is the same size base as the clock house. That really cute house with the curved roof however does NOT match up to the base very well. If you look closely the fence is unequal on that one.

Thanks Steve!, I do love the newness, it is so bright compared to a few of the other houses sitting on my desk right now. When I set up my village next year it will be in the urban renewal district.

Howard, Thanks, hopefully I put enough glue on it, it last 50 years! :) And thanks so much for the link and the insider scoop on your studio! Your pictures always turn out great! I'm going to try it out for sure!

Tom, I noticed the base is a little different for the curved house, Im working on building a new base for it. Thanks for letting me know that the blue house base is the same as the clock house! It is next on the chopping block.
