Hello! I am a new member!

Hello! My name is Denise. I joined the forum but have just got around to really looking around the site. So many things to look at. I am the current owner of about 15 Putz houses. Some are stamped “made in Japan”. Some have 10 cents marked on them. I remember as a lte girl my dad building a village under our tree which took him 2 days to complete. At that time, there were more houses. Some unfortunately were damaged in a blizzard when snow got into the garage attic. I am told some of these houses belonged to my grandfather. I have had them for the last 35 years and treat them as babies. Some are very fragile due to their age. I have repaired some that were completely falling apart doing the minimal just to keep them together. I did not want to venture out there too far since I do not know what I am doing. I love looking at patterns and imaging all the things I want to add. For the time being, I am going to look and browse. I want to attempt building some houses too. Thanks for all the great info. I look forward to seeing what all your great creative minds come up with!

Welcome, Denise. You will fall in love with all of the wonderful vintage (and newly created) treasures you will see here. You are fortunate to have putz houses from your own family still in your possession. Glad you have joined us!

You’ll find we are a friendly and helpful group…so don’t be shy on asking question or soliciting advise…and please share pictures of you houses…you just might have some we’ve never seen before!…
