greetings to all...
i was fortunate to obtain most of the parts of a vintage castle that is like the one on ted's site...
here's the link with more information...
http://www.papatedsplace.com/Hom2000.html
the goal will be to make the new parts look old and do as little damage to the vintage parts as i can...
wish me luck...my very best regards...howard...

Cool Howard!! I can't wait to see it restored!!! What a cool find!

This reminded me a lot of the copy of a 1920's, 1930's castle that Karl Fey made for me for my French putz. See below.
Howard that looks like quite a project!

Howard,
Be sure to take plenty of photo documentation before restoration begins. It would be interesting to see inside photos of how it was constructed. Good luck! I can't wait to see this finished product.

good morning...
old parts have been assembled and new parts made...have to add primer, color, texture and highlights to mimic the original...
i braced some of the walls and added missing internal pieces with cereal box cardboard...it's very sturdy now...
my very best regards...howard...

Re: Castle re-build...Similar to April 2000 House of Month..
good afternoon...finished the re-build earlier today...
used a mix of bird cage gravel, craft sand, spackling compound and white glue to match the texture of the original parts...
the colors on the new part are various combinations of craft paint highlighted with silver and gold enamel...
when dry, i rubbed the new tower and spire with some dirt from my backyard...
my very best regards...
