here are pictures of the individual assemblies that make up the main body...

each piece will be primed and painted as a separate components...then assembled into one piece...

i'll put blue painter's tape on the surfaces that touch...this will make for a stronger glue joint when assembled...

the base will be built in a similar way with holes for fence post and a slot or two for the fence panels...

i'll post base and fence pictures later...

this may seem like "over-building"...but i know all the pieces will fit when assembly time comes...

good morning...

finished all the cardboard work...i'll let the picture tell the story...

like always...this project turned into a lot of work...i always under estimate the time it will take...

yes...i've over built the piece...with slots, holes, tabs and individual components...it's more work upfront...

but it will make the painting so much easier...painting lots of colors that touch each other is not my favorite thing to do...

some primer and paint are next...then assembly, doors and windows...

my very best regards...

good evening...

here is a picture of the finished project...it has to dry thoroughly before i can give it a clear, high gloss spray finish so that it more closely resembles the original vintage "lackkie"...

there are two things i wish i had done differently...

1. used a darker green for the base color...i tried to match the original...but would like a little more contrast between the house, fence and base...

2. make the score lines that represent the shingles much more pronounced...i have a fix for that right before i clear spray...

this will probably be my last major project this year...but i still have pictures of two more houses to post in late december...

my very best regards...and happy thanksgiving...

It would make Mr. Fey proud, too, I think.
