The church with the little green bell is my favorite church. I love that little green bell and how the rice paper has a red glow when the house is lite, so I knew I had to make myself this wonderful piece.
I used the pictures on Ted’s December 2006 HOM and Antoinette’s Christmas site to determine the size. Ted mentions the three windows were made of rice paper and when the house is lit they have a special red glow. To achieve this I place the rice paper over a small tooth comb and sprayed it with water and pressed the paper over the comb to create the ridges and let it dry right on the comb. Making a two sided frame like the one Howard makes. I placed the rice paper on one side and the red velum on the other. When folded closed I glued each one in place. When the church it lit the light shines through the red velum and then through the rice paper creating the red glow!!

Re: The church with the little green bell
Thanks everyone! The main part of the church is made of a mixture of sand and both clear and black German glass glitter. I found the glass glitter on line at Bisbeebliss. www.etsy.com/shop/bisbeebliss The roof Is Pet’s red and white coconut.
