Sky-blue_portico_house

Post by paulrace »

On eBay 2/22/14

Same listing as house below:

http://www.ebay.com/itm/Set-of-3-Large- ... 3cdcd868f3

A sort of deep sky blue. The portico doesn't have a roof. No mica or glitter, just "stucco" (sand?) on the walls and sawdust on the roof, some sort of texture on the base.

Something Brian said about the other blue house I just posted makes me think that this isn't the original color, which is why the topping on the roof looks like sawdust and there is no visible glitter or mica. This repaint covers the shiny stuff. So it's not a new discovery at all. But it's still a cute shape.

Yes it is repainted as were all on the ebay link and the Original that Howard posted (and did a great job with his interpretation) shows this one has an entirely new and smaller base made for it as it should have both a cellophane bb tree AND a fence. Those cellophane bottle brush trees are ENTIRELY of the 1940's and early fifties and note they usually have a brown paper trunk. These are often right around the occupied Japan period though can be a bit later.

Thanks, Tom, I figured you'd probably seen the original.
