Thanks to Howard, Brian, Tom, & Pete for answering all of my emails. Thanks also to Paul for letting b a part of this great group of masters to learn from. It took me 6 months to get "in" here, but it was worth the wait! :D

Thanks to all of you who greeted me so far. I am so happy to be part of this group! I intend on posting some of my collection here soon. To Lynn: I am a collector and also a builder. I will be posting some of my "custom builds" as well. They are not even nearly as good as the ones created by Howard (my putz idol! lol...) And some of my restorations are pale in comparison to Tom, the "master" of the trade. But-- with all this said, I am thankful for all of you for letting me be a part of our almost "lost" history which I feel is an intregal part of Christmas and the spirit it fosters. I also hope soon to own my very 1st train set this year to top off my collection when I set it up during the holidays. Take care everyone and keep on putzing! Blessings to you all...

Warmest regards to you all,

Will

Hello, Will.

I just got in as well. It feels like a big honor to be a part of this group. I don't have a collection, but I love these little houses. And I LOVE making them even if they are on the amateur side of things compared to what we see here.

Thank you for letting me be a part of this group.

Thank you, Howard.

Right now I am making what I call "scrapbook-type houses" (mostly covered with decorative scrapbook paper) than the true putz houses, but the fundamentals are the same. I learned a lot from everyone here. For example, make sure the door doesn't extend all the way to the bottom of the house so it is easier to keep it square. Or if you have a gable with a window and you want light to go through the window you have to have a section of the roof cut out - made that mistake twice. I learned that one from the Little Charmer pattern with a star in the gable.

I hope to post a photo or two in a few days. Still looking forward to seeing Will's collection.
