Open Garden Railroad, November 14 at the Race Household

Post by paulrace »

I run big trains in my big back yard. Every year since 2007 (I think), I've decorated all the trees with lights and set out trains for little kids to run and a movie-style popcorn popper for everyone to enjoy. The amount of activities, treats, etc. varies with which family members can help me set up and run things each year, but every year is fun. Here's a link to last year's Christmas-Themed open railroad.

This year, the event will be on Nov. 14, near Springfield Ohio. I realize I'm "cross-posting" this in a putz house forum. And I apologize that you won't see ANY cardboard putz houses outdoors that weekend. My tiny collection will not be set up indoors, either, I'm afraid, but if you're going to be anywhere near Springfield Ohio that day, send me an e-mail and I'll send you directions. Just think of it as a really big putz. :-)

That's awesome Paul! I am in SW Indiana. I google mapped out your city and you're only 4 1/2 hrs away. My 8 & 2 yr. old sons would LOVE to see such a layout I'm sure. I will make it a "Father & Sons" date for my boys to come on out to see it if the weather permits. Thanks for making and taking the time to set up something like this! Very nice... :)

Cheers,
Will
