Hello everyone,
I didn't realize how many houses I have acquired until I started to put together a village this year. This is one of three villages made up of houses I have made, restored or purchased. There is also a mixture of old and new.
The lamp posts light up as well as the houses. I will try to take a picture after dark with the village lit.
Enjoy!
Lee

Charming village, Lee. Love the night scene!!
Re: Cabinet top Putz Village 2015
i believe your village is on a buffet, right?...i think it's the perfect size and place...we don't all have mantles in our homes...and it sure is a lot easier to see your village without having to get down on the floor!...and then get back up...
the mixture of old and new...bought, made and restored...it's the best combination...i like a village with street light, too...makes it even cozier...
by the way...any new building projects?...let us see them if you can...
merry christmas...howard...

Re: Cabinet top Putz Village 2015
Thank you les and Howard for your kind words.
Howard this village is on top of an antique bookcase with glass doors. I have my ocean liner models in it. The other village is going to be on a sofa table and the third on a drop leaf table.
I have had health problems this year and have not worked on any new projects. I do save ideas and think about building houses a lot.
I have had surgery on both of my knees this year so I agree, it is better to have the villages up higher than on the floor. My getting down on the floor days are over.
Happy Christmas,
Lee

You have a nice collection of houses that make up great village!
Re: Cabinet top Putz Village 2015
Lee, the farmhouse in the center looks great with the rest of the traditional putz houses! Wonder who made it?
Re: Cabinet top Putz Village 2015
Wonderful display. I especially like the "gate" front and center.
And yes, you are right about getting down on the floor. My largest putz village is on the floor of the family room and crawling around this year was no fun--but I kept my sense of humor about it--until I'd stand back up again!
My other villages and smaller trees are on mantles, tables, credenzas--and so much easier........

Very nice. I also have my village on top of a book case with fold up glass doors. It's nice and cozy that way. I'm posting mine tonight.

Thank you all again for your kind words.
Paul, the farmhouse in the middle is one of three that I made. It is a replica of a house in Preble, New York. Two of them went to family members who grew up in the house and the third one I kept for myself.
