This Lackie is from a picture on Ted's site under his categories. Again, I made it middle size: 6" x 3 ½" x 4". Matching exact colors is difficult as I'm sure age and photos change the original colors, but I closely resemble the photo. This time I did add more blue - green to the base to make the colors blend in a more pleasing manner. I cut a hole in the roof to allow light through the upper right window, but now I wish I had done the same with the little dormer on the left. Thank goodness these houses look much better in person than in the pictures (well, at least, my pictures). I miss adding glitter or coconut to these houses, but the bright colors are just so much fun to work with. The first picture is the screen shot from Ted's site.

Re: Lackie #2
Beautiful job Laurie! I myself have not built one of these yet, but-- you're boosting my confidence to do so! BTW, what kind of "shellac" did you use for that glossy effect? So nice...

Laurie,
The colors are beautiful. It's a great house. Your work does inspire us to make Lackies.

laurie...
this is probably my all time favorite lackie!...(i never made one either)...i guess it's the orange and blue university of florida colors that attracts me!...yours looks like it just came from the 5 and 10-cents store!*...
my very best regards...howard...
*speaking of "5 and 10-cents stores"...we probably need to take a poll of the forum members...
"how many actually shopped for christmas decorations in one?"...
i'm not sure how to start a poll...perhaps one of the tech savy members could figure it out...

Re: Lackie #2
Laurie, another great lackie! Are you planning on a village of just lackies?
Re: Lackie #2
Will, any spray shellac should work fine. The brand I have is Zinger Bulls Eye Shellac. I put on 3 light coats. Lynn, wouldn't a village of Lackies be fun. I want to make a few more, and I may think about selling some because we live in a small house. As long as it takes me to make one, this would be more a labor of love than much of a profit venture. Any one have any input on their experience with selling?
Re: Lackie #2
Dag gone spell check - the brand is Zinsser.
Re: Lackie #2
Howard, a poll would be fun. I, for one, loved Woolworths as a child. I remember going regularly with my grandma. Every Christmas I would save up to buy a new 'chalk ware' piece to add to my nativity set. I wish I had that set now.

Beautiful, just beautiful!
