Lakkie info

Post by PutzinVT »

Hello:

I am interested in making a repro of another one of Karl Fey's Lakkies.
This one comes to mind.

I was wondering if anyone might have seen or have some pictures of the right side of the building.
I'd like to get a good idea of what I'm up against before I start to draw out a plan.

Thanks,

Steve

I posted a pic of this building in my Lackie #2 post here. It is from Ted's site and gives a bit of a view of the right side of the building. Maybe that will help.

I have an unrelated question about Karl Fey's houses. On some of the photos of his houses you see row after row of the same house. Do you know how he cut them out? Did he cut them all out by hand?

Steve, I found a picture on one of Maria's flicker pages, I think, that shows that same house in a different color scheme from the R side in the background of a train station. I hope that helps a little bit.

I'm looking to see how big the windows are on the right side.

From the picture you linked to. It looks like the bottom window is a 6 pane.

From some other picture I found, I'm lead to believe a 4 pane is on the top.

Every little it of info helps.

Thanks,
Laurie

I didn't put a window on the right side, but I see now that I should have.

greetings to all...

the great window mystery is solved!... :o ...found this picture on a model railroad/toy train forum i follow...

there are two windows on the right...4-pane in the attic...6-pane on the first floor...

see the attached picture...note...the white/green house is the same pattern as the orange/blue house...

i'll say it again...the orange and blue "lackie" has got to be the best looking toy train house Karl Fey ever built!...

my very best regards...howard...

Lucy, I'd be interested in knowing how he cut them out also. Where did you find a picture of Karl's houses all in a row?

Wow - kind of interesting. That's quite a production. I always thought of the houses as more individualized.
