Hello All - here is a reproduction of a giant coconut. The inspiration came to me from Pete's catalog. Much credit to Pete for the awesome coconut and for providing dimensions. Attached is my build plus a photo of the original. Thanks for looking!

Re: Avocado Reproduction
Amazing.
Great job on the fence.
Now all you need is one of Pete's Repro santa figure.
so what's the base covered in?

Re: Avocado Reproduction
Hi John, real nice job on your repo!!
Re: Avocado Reproduction
Thank you all for your kind words and encouragement!
The base is white gesso covered with a combo batch of coconut that Pete whipped up that consists of dark blue and light silver mix.
Also, for those that may be interested, the fence is raffia from Michaels craft store, soaked in strong coffee over night, dried, then cut into one inch strips and glued on to both sides of a 3/4 inch strip of cardboard. I am going take photos of the process and then post them. Not exactly the way the Japanese did but works for me!

You picked a really great house to make, such cool architecture.
Re: Avocado Reproduction
Very nice retro. I especially like the green color and the fence. I haven't tried one yet and will be interested in your tutorial.
