Last 2 Christmas gift houses

Post by Lucy »

Here are the last 2 houses I completed for 2016. The clock house is for the person I call "my biggest fan". He's 4 and just goes crazy about the houses. I am afraid that won't last too many more years, but in the meantime, I love having him as my biggest fan. I decided to do a clock house based on the kitchen display that Maria posted. The design evolved from the 2 that Maria posted. I will be making one closer to Maria's house in the future as I think I like it better.

The other one is for a co-worker who moved out of state to be closer to her family. She admired the recent house that I gave another co-worker so I made this one to look similar.

I look forward to seeing everyone's 2017 projects.

Lucy...

it's amazing how many different houses you have been able to make with that one die...I haven't covered a house with what looks like gift wrap but may just have to give it a try...

Howard,
I drew out a simple pattern and I actually cut these out by hand. I learned a lot when I copied your witches lair pattern that makes cutting out the pattern easier and sturdier - the roof extensions that go under the gable flaps.

The Christmas house is very similar to Little Charmer with the front gable extension in the middle. I based it on a house I saw on my bike trip. I will include a photo below.

I covered both of them with scrapbook papers, but gift wrap would work.
