2016 "MARIA-ISHI" "JAPAN VILLAGE"

Please use this forum for photos of your putz villages - some of you don't make your own houses, but you still display a lot of artistry when you combine and arrange them. And the rest of us would love to see your work. Again, it works best if you resize your photos to 800px wide or less before you upload them - Paul

2016 "MARIA-ISHI" "JAPAN VILLAGE"

Post by maria »

"MARIA-ISHI" - This collection comes out in January--when the Fontanini nativity gets puts away--and stays until early the end of summer--it's a series of cardboard houses by Howard Lamey depicting an idealized/stylized Japanese/Asian village. Some of the houses have a hole for a light like a traditional vintage Christmas putz house. The accessories are a mix of old and new---but mainly old--pieces made in Japan, occupied Japan, or Hong Kong. The round fans are new made in China. The large wooden dragon comes from Bali. This village has changed throughout the years but the houses (AND LITTLE WOODEN GEISHAS) by Lamey always remain.
