Halloween Village 2017

Post by Lucy »

I finally have all the houses built for the 2017 Halloween Village and I will put them on sale at work on October 4th. People at work are already asking when they can start buying the houses. Here are some photos of the village. I will add a couple of photos of the entire village in the next message and try to upload a very short video of the houses with 48 flickering LED lights.

Here is a photo of the entire village in the daytime. The video wouldn't load, I have to correct it to a different format, but it is on my blog.

In my best imitation of Cary Grant, "Lucy, Lucy, Lucy!" Your village is terrifyingly and frightfully WONDERFUL! Of course I would be pleased with only one house, but the thought of keeping them all together and displaying as a whole town is absolutely intoxicating. Your coworkers are lucky to have access to your houses. May each new owner become so enamored that he or she will also begin to create new and different putz structures and styles.

Good show, young lady. Jolly good show!

Lucy, what a wonderful Halloween village. Each house is so unique.

You certainly have a talent for using your imagination when creating your hunted halloween houses.

I know I have said it before but it's always a "treat" to see your hallowreen houses. :)

Lucy,
I love the house on the back row on the left. It is sort of an italianate style victorian with bay window. Can you tell me more about that one?

Thank you, everybody for your kind words about my houses. I do like them all together as a spooky village. I sometimes wish I could keep them and have a giant Halloween display, but I really can't justify that. Anyway, my favorite thing is MAKING houses, not necessarily keeping houses. (Keeping house in general is a challenge for me.)

Lee, you specifically asked about the Italianate house. It's based on an abandoned house in Coudersport, PA. If you google or go to pinterest or Instagram and look for abandoned houses, this house always comes up. I wrote a little bit about it in a post early in the year - https://www.cardboardchristmas.com/foru ... f=2&t=1227.

I also wrote a more detailed description of how I made in it on my blog - https://paperglitterglue.com/first-spoo ... -for-2017/

I didn't specifically decorate this house for Halloween because it is spooky in itself, but also I think someone could add a couple of bottle brush trees and drape some garland on the fence and it would still work for Christmas.

Thank you again for all the kind words.
