My very 1st "official" flattie!...

Well my friends, I took the leap and did it. I wanted to do something that was unique as well as time period compliant. I chose to make a "putz" rendition of a 1931 Model A Ford snow-mobile mail delivery truck. There were several models running during the harsh, Mid-West/Eastern winters in this era, but I found this one to be just what I wanted to build. It's rough looking, I know. Hopefully as I do more, I will be 1/2 as good as our "flattie expert" Howard. Enjoy & have a great weekend all!...

A most appropriate choice for a "flattie"...I see a lot of detail work including some very precise hand lettering...very good photo...the dark is a great contrast...I'm liking the reflection I see below the flattie, too...

what's next?...how about a man carrying a big box from the vehicle up to one of your houses...I can visualize the scene...I'll bet you can as well...

Thanks for your post Howard. I broke a few blades on this one! I love the idea of the postman and the package, I'm gonna do it! It will be the perfect accompaniment for the truck. Need to get online and find a postman pic of that era. I love making flatties. More to come my friend!
